Tips for Choosing the Perfect Watch Strap

Watches are not just timepieces, but also an important accessory that emphasizes your personal style and personality. Choosing the right watch strap is therefore just as important as choosing the watch itself. Here are some tips to help you choose the perfect watch strap.

First, you should know the width, length, and thickness of the desired watch strap. These numbers are important to find the perfect strap. The width of the watch strap usually corresponds to the lug width of the watch. The length of the watch strap should be chosen so that it fits comfortably around your wrist and is neither too loose nor too tight. It is also important that the strap is not too long, otherwise the excess part of the strap will be annoying. The thickness of the watch strap is also an important factor in the selection; it should match the watch. Once you know the width, length, and thickness, you can begin your search for the perfect watch strap. There are many different types of watch straps on the market, and you should take your time to find the right one for you. Also, keep in mind that you can always change the strap if you ever decide to try something different.

Watch Lug Width

The lug width of the watch is measured on the inside of the case lugs. The lug width depends on the size of the case and the design of the watch. Some watches have a smaller lug width, while others have a larger lug width. The lug width of the watch should be matched with the width of the strap so that the strap does not wobble or protrude. (e.g. lug width 20 mm = watch strap 20 mm)

Watch Strap Length

We state the length of our watch straps in millimeters. The length of the watch strap is calculated from the total length of the two parts, without the buckle. Depending on the watch strap, the length may vary slightly. The appropriate length is determined by the circumference of your wrist. Please note that the watch case itself also contributes to the total length of the wrist circumference.

The lengths are specified as follows (lengths without watch):

XS = approx. 140 - 150 mm total length
S = approx. 170 - 180 mm total length
M = approx. 195 - 205 mm total length
L = approx. 210 - 220 mm total length

The length may vary depending on the manufacturer and watch strap.

Strap Thickness

There are many different watch straps, all of which have a different strap thickness. The thickness of the watch strap is the distance from the inner lining to the upper leather. The more massive the watch, the more sensible it is to choose a thicker strap. The thickness tapers towards the tip on many straps.

The thickness of the watch strap is an important factor in choosing the right strap. The more substantial the watch, the more sensible it is to choose a thicker strap.
