Change watch strap

Instructions for changing the watch strap

Once you have found the new strap, there are the following options for fitting it. The best thing to do is to visit our shop in Worb, we will be happy to change your watch strap for you. With a little manual skill, you can also change the strap yourself.

Measure the lug width

Measure with a ruler or a caliper. For many straps, there is only one watch strap every 2 mm, then please order a wider strap (e.g., measured strap width 19 mm, mount a 20 mm wide strap, carefully compress the watch strap a little before mounting)

Compress the spring bar

Insert the spring bar tool between the watch strap and the case, then carefully compress the spring bar.

Remove the old strap and prepare the new watch strap

Check the existing spring bars and replace them if necessary. Then insert them into the new watch strap. You can now dispose of the old watch strap or reattach it later.

Mount the purchased watch strap

To do this, insert the spring bar into the hole in the case on one side and press it together with the spring bar tool. Now insert it into the other side of the case lug. Finally, check by pulling that the watch strap is really secure.

Important detail: Always mount the short strap part with the buckle at 12 o'clock and the long strap part with the holes at 6 o'clock.
