In 2001, silicon as a material for the delicate hairspring of the automatic caliber revolutionized watch movement technology for the first time. The silicon hairspring, perfected since then through complex processes, is corrosion-resistant, resistant to magnetic fields, and temperature stable. Thus, the silicon hairspring achieves precise timekeeping accuracy.

The automatic watch charges autonomously through the wearer's arm and hand movements. The DS Automatic wristwatch is equipped with a generous power reserve of over 60 hours after the last movement. As a bicompax chronograph, it features additional functions including a central stop-seconds hand and a 30-minute counter. On the dial rim, you will find the telemeter and tachymeter scales.

Marked with the DS designation, the manufacturer's unique selling point, the Certina wristwatch offers "Double Security" through an innovative principle. This essentially consists of decoupling the movement from the case through highly efficient damping and sealing. Maximum protection of the movement and watch case makes the watch insensitive to water and external influences such as shocks. In addition, the anti-reflective watch crystal is made of synthetic sapphire, which is surpassed in hardness only by diamonds. Extreme durability and scratch resistance are guaranteed.
