Certina now captures the fascination of the mysterious celestial body with a watch that skillfully combines moon phase and chronograph: The new DS-8 Chronograph Moonphase presents its various displays with great clarity and transparency. A fresh appearance for our constant celestial companion and a wonderful opportunity for Certina to demonstrate the precision of the Precidrive™ quartz caliber: All models are officially certified as chronometers.

Short-time measurement and moon phases at a glance

Chronograph and moon phase provide practical functionality – and are also real eye-catchers. The new DS-8 model succeeds in integrating these complex features harmoniously and clearly into an appealing design. In addition to the central stop-seconds, the watch features an integrated 12-hour and 60-minute chronograph counter at 2 o’clock and a small seconds display at 6 o’clock. The moon orbits at 10 o’clock against a finely drawn starry sky. A useful and discreet date at 4 o’clock completes the overall package.

Metallic and dark tones

The round 42 mm stainless steel case sets stylish accents with satin-finished and polished parts. The dark blue dial with sunburst effect, also available in dark brown, black or silver, ensures elegance and clarity. Extensive Super-LumiNova® coating on the elegant Arabic numerals and indexes, as well as on the hour and minute hands, ensures optimal readability even in the dark. A black calfskin strap with crocodile embossing completes the look. Alternatively, a dark brown leather strap and a comfortable five-link stainless steel strap are available.

As steadfast as the moon

Inside the new DS-8 Chronograph Moonphase beats a modern Precidrive™ quartz caliber, whose precision has been awarded chronometer certification by the independent Swiss inspection body COSC. It is securely protected – up to a pressure of 10 bar – by the DS (Double Security) system, which also includes a scratch-resistant and anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
