The Swiss engineer and designer, Hans Hilfiker (1901-1993), created a design classic in the 1940s as an employee of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB CFF FFS): The Swiss railway clock. Based on the large SBB clock at Swiss railway stations, Mondaine Watch Ltd. developed the legally protected wristwatch in 1986, which has since become a classic. Many other models with the red seconds hand, such as the table and wall clock, the travel alarm clock, and the pocket watch, are now available.
