The birth of Obaku Denmark was determined by the idea that the objects with which we usually adorn ourselves should radiate a feeling of calm and exuberance.

In Asia, Zen philosophy fosters a commitment to natural simplicity in thought and action. Obaku Denmark takes its name from a branch of Zen philosophy. This branch forms a universe characterized by existing tranquility and the absence of superfluous details. Northern European countries have a long design tradition that combines functionality and simplicity. Obaku Denmark has inherited the best from both cultures and makes the most important characteristics of the Obaku philosophy visible in its models.

All Obaku Denmark watches are designed by Danish designers Christian Mikkelsen and Lau Liengård Ruge. They have combined the best of Scandinavian design art and Zen philosophy. This created a completely unique design with clear expression. All watches are characterized by a pure, harmonious design, combined with a calm, balanced color composition and high functionality. All models offer a balanced design down to the smallest detail, nothing has been left to chance. Now one might think that creating a simple and minimalist watch is one of the simplest tasks. In fact, the exact opposite is true: the simpler the design, the greater the effort required for perfection. Smaller design flaws immediately catch the eye.
