Rebirth of a Design Classic: Colani's Watch Collection at Fashiontime
The Nidau-based company Fashiontime, known for its previous brands a.b.art and Votum, is breathing new life into Luigi Colani's design classic and is now offering the last pieces of his legendary watch collection for sale. These watches have been comprehensively redesigned to ensure that they still bring joy and wonder almost 50 years after their original release. A masterpiece of bio-design returns, combining timeless elegance with modern functionality.
Portrait Luigi Colani was born in Berlin in 1928 to a Swiss film architect and a Polish prompter. Luz Colani (his baptismal name) cultivated a worldly lifestyle from a young age.
He dropped out of his studies at the University of Arts in Berlin to study aerodynamics and ultralight construction at the École Polytechnique in Paris, where he believed he would learn more. After his first years working for a Californian aircraft manufacturer and a French car body company, he next made a name for himself with Italian car brands and from then on called himself Luigi Colani.
Streamlined shapes, organic contours, and dynamic curves were Colani's trademarks. With great practical intelligence and creative energy, he developed his bio-design not only for automobiles and airplanes but for almost all everyday objects. This is how his incomparable watch collection came into being in the 1980s.
The Colani watch collection features designs renowned for their extraordinary forms and the balanced fusion of aesthetics and functionality. Fashiontime has made it its mission not only to preserve these pieces but also to adapt them to today's needs and technologies. Each model reflects Colani's vision and remains a coveted collector's item for design lovers and watch enthusiasts.
