DS POWERMATIC 80: A CONFIDENT NEWCOMER WITH STYLE AND TACT

The latest three-hand model in the Certina collection presents itself as a versatile all-rounder. Elegant and stylish, precise and timeless, urban and retro at the same time, the DS Powermatic 80 effortlessly combines apparent opposites, making it perfect for modern everyday life. Thanks to its clever quick-change strap system, its look can be restyled at any time to suit your mood. And its innovative Powermatic 80 calibre shows what contemporary mechanics have to offer: confident precision, a relaxed power reserve of 80 hours, and increased magnetic field resistance thanks to the Nivachron™ balance spring.

Curtain up for a new design

The DS Powermatic 80 is inspired by the popular DS Chronograph Automatic from 2020. Unlike its big brother, however, the new three-hand model is clad in a 40 mm diameter stainless steel case, which comes in a pure finish or with a rose or yellow gold PVD coating. A sapphire box glass provides the best view and evokes memories of historical timepieces. The finely crafted hands also contribute to this: the slender, classically blued seconds hand and the minute and hour hands coated with Super-LumiNova®. The slightly curved dials are presented in luminous white, shimmering gold, or in dark blue, green, or brown with a fine sunray brushed finish. The straps, which can be removed and replaced at any time thanks to the quick-change system, add fashionable accents, whether as a modern NATO strap in a blue-brown stripe look, anthracite, or in light or dark brown smooth leather.

An incomparable sense of rhythm

Just as the watch's exterior combines vintage details with contemporary elements, its interior also merges present with past. The intricate construction of its automatic calibre revives traditional watchmaking while employing highly modern technologies. This includes in particular the Nivachron™ balance spring, which works precisely and regularly, unaffected by magnetic attraction – for up to 80 hours after the fully wound watch has been laid down.

As a Certina watch, the DS Powermatic 80 naturally scores with the same reliability and robustness that characterise all models of the brand. This is ensured not least by the well-known DS (Double Security) System, which has provided increased resistance since the 1960s and gives the new watch water resistance up to 10 bar (100 meters).
