Certina Reaches for the Stars

The elegant DS-8 Chronograph now reaches for the stars with its moon phase display. The extremely precise PrecidriveTM movement inside the satin-polished stainless steel case gives it a distinctive look thanks to the unusual arrangement of the chronograph counters combined with a brushed sunray dial and the elegant leather strap.

Not only true watch enthusiasts will be delighted by the moon phase function of the DS-8 Chronograph: It shows the duration of the average cycle as well as the moon quarters on the dial at 10 o'clock, thus complementing the regular time indications of hour, minute, small seconds, and date. The chronograph functions, which include 12-hour, 60-minute, and 60-second timing, have been carefully redesigned: The 12-hour measurement appears in a separate window within the 60-minute counter, while the stop-second display is via the central second hand. The case harmoniously combines polished surfaces and satin-finished lugs with the high-gloss accents of the bezel, crown, and pushers. With a fashionable size of 41 mm, the men's watch case is perfectly equipped for all activities – day and night.

The hands and indexes with rose gold PVD coating are particularly easy to read in all lighting conditions thanks to Superluminova. The sapphire crystal, anti-reflective coated on both sides, offers the best view of the elegantly brushed, dark gray sunray dial and the various time indications. The CERTINA DS-8 Moon Phase is water-resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 m) and was developed according to the well-known DS (Double Security) concept, as underlined by the letters "DS" on the crown tip. The historical CERTINA turtle logo on the case back also reminds of the reliability and longevity of this timepiece.

Other models are available, such as the variants with a black dial and a five-link, satin-polished stainless steel bracelet or with a silver-colored dial and a brown leather strap – all, of course, with the same reliable double-folding clasp with two pushers.
